Vintage Nantucket basket purse by José Formoso Reyes (1902-1980) dated 1975. Made from a 8" by 6" oval mold and measures 10" wide overall. One of two baskets purchased in 1975 and includes a copy of the original receipt and photograph of Mr. Reyes holding basket. Features a carved Sperm whale ornament, knobs, peg, and signature formed handle. Excellent condition with a light patina.
