Rare and important Nantucket painting by James Walter Folger

A rare and important oil on canvas painting by Nantucket artist James Walter Folger 1890 (signed and dated lower left). Titled "The Needles Eye". From the Estate of Nancy Adams, ex President of the NHA. This wonderful painting depicts James Walter Folger threading a needle's eye while his landlady Tilly Joy observes from his doorway. This painting is a great Folger classic and one of his best, Note the colors and details. Very good untouched conditon with two old tears - very minor paint loss. Original walnut frame.
