Pair of Antique Scrimshaw Teeth, Actors J.B. Booth & Mrs. Charles Kean

Wonderful pair of mid 19th C. antique Sperm whale teeth with polychrome scrimshaw of famous 19th C. actors J.B. Booth and Mrs. Charles Kean. Further decorated with banners and floral vines encircling tip of both teeth. 

Junius Brutus Booth (1796-1852) was an English born - American actor famous for his portrayal of  Richard III and being the father of Lincoln's assassin John Wilkes Booth

Mrs Charles Kean (1805-1880) was an English actress known as  Ellen Tree but changed her stage name to Mrs Charles Kean as she performed almost exclusively with her actor husband Charles Kean. Interestingly, Charles Kean's father Edmund Kean was a fierce rival of J.B. Booth.

Each tooth measures an impressive 7-3/4" tall. Small loss bottom corner of J.B. Booth tooth, otherwise great condition.
