Antique Scrimshaw Sperm Whale tooth from the second voyage (1831-1836) of the HMS Beagle; noted for Naturalist Charles Darwin’s research leading to the famous publication The Origin of Species (1859). Front side depicts “Captn Ross’ Residence at the Cocos Islands Indian Ocean” while reverse depicts “Canoe Indians Beagle Channel.” English, circa 1836. Signed J A Bute. Measures approx 6" long.
