Choice antique oil painting on board by Charles D. Cahoon

A choice oil on academy board painting by Charles D.Cahoon circa 1920. Signed lower right. This luminous painting is a view from the cliffs of Gay Head, Martha's Vineyard looking south-west out to sea. Charles Cahoon had a brother that worked at the Gay Head Lighthouse and Charles visited him and painted some his rare paintings of the area. Condition is very good with scattered retouch. Framed in a handsome period carved gold leaf frame. Size: 16.5x20 inches overall. This is one of Cahoon's best works.
