Antique Covered Nantucket Basket by A.D. Williams

Rare antique covered Nantucket basket attributed to A.D. Williams (1867-1927) circa 1900. Covered Nantucket baskets are some of the rarest examples and highly sought after by collectors. This one was made on an 4-3/4" diameter mold and is the smallest size he made. Features a turned lid knob, brass hinge & ears, and shaped swing handle. In as found condition, was probably too close to a candle or fire and has a portion singed. This is a real survivor! Measures 4-1/2" high (6-1/4" high with handle) by 5" diameter overall.
